Whith these details we can start finding solutions

Hi Leopold!

Have you tried streched sprue?
It's cheap and you can try severall times until you find it the thickness you desire!

1 - Candle + more or less 8 cm of sprue
2 - Keep rotating the sprue over the lighten candle (on the same area, in the middle) until the other end starts to bend, almost like an L
3 - Now it's the time to grab the other end of the sprue and pull it in a flowing movement - one shot!
4 - Depending on the speed of the movement you'll have different thicknesses of the streched sprue...

I advise you to practice a little untill you reached the desired result!

You can attach it to the masts and other needed parts you Cyanoacrilat Glue (A.K.A. superglue) with just a litle little droplet using a toothpick!
The painting of the streched sprue (if needed) should be prior to the attachment of it in place...

This is my way of rigging - hope that you will be satisfied too!

Best regards and Congratulations on you Yamato - it looks great!!

Get some ultralight first "E" string from an electric guitar. It's .009 guage. Should be able to buy them individually at a music shop for under a buck a pop. Comes in 4 -5 ft length and it looks great. Cut to length and a drop of super glue on both ends, then on to next piece. I used this technique on my KGV and wish I had heard of it earlier.

Hello Leo,

I purchase a roll of Transparent Monofilament Nylon Thread (no. 60) which comes in 200mteres as big as a roll of film from sewing kit shops.

I think is those type which u mentioned on the stocking.

It is transparent and easy to be glue on with super glue and can be painted with an colours, and with 200 meters can last u at 100 pieces of Yamato.

Can take a look at my result in my gallery which I constructed the USS Arizona.

If you want scale rigging...order Lycra Thread from White Ensign Models in the UK...this stuff is insane...very small, but surprisingly easy to work with...

I used it to rig the antenna on my 1/350 aircraft, and it actually LOOKS correct!!
