U-boat U511 a IXC boat was sold to the Japanese in 1944 by Germany. It served through out the war untill the surrender. This was built for the DDD campaign, it is a Nichimo 1/200 IXC U-boat kit. More pictures can be viewed in the Campaign central forum. Please have a look.

Cheers

Thanks Mike! Yes these Nichimo sub kits are pretty good. But there Cruiser and Battleship kits tend to go the other direction! Poor molding , molded on railing and toy like detail. To bad they did not have the quality of there submarine kits.

The only comment I'll chip in is about the railing. It is sooooo thick. Did you check out maybe picking up some brass. 350 scale might work but I think someone made some 200 scale for that Yamato they did. Wish someone would come up with a 350 scale type VIIc and IXc to go with my every increasing 350 scale collection. I'm still paddling along on this 72nd scale . Got the hull done now finishing up the conning tower then I'll start putting in all the hand rails and painting. It's been difficult, but it is starting to come together looking quite nice if I say so my self....and I do :-)
