Pics are quite big so I placed the url
Can anyone identify these Japanese ships? They're from the game Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault and it's near Tarawa. No need to be exact, I just want to know what kind of ships these are and any available kits in 1/700?
Thanks!

To me, the carriers look like they were based on Kaga and Akagi, which were sunk at Midway.
Here's a page on Japanese carriers to help you make your own mind up

Both are made by Hasegawa

That carrier looks like a cross between Akagi and Kaga. The biggest distinguishing thing between them was the island. Akagi had hers to port, Kaga's was to starboard, like other navies. This carrier has the island to starboard, but has a large down swept stack to port, which the Kaga didn't have.
Here are a couple other images from Combined Fleet.

That can could be a Mutsuki class. The distinguishing feature on her was the twin three twin tubes on the center line, with one being in the well deck forward of the bridge.

Those images by the way are all 1/700 kits from various manufacturers. The copywrite info on the picture will tell which company made the kit.

I agree with David, they are suposed to be the Akagi class carriers. And the Hasegawa kit is a good one, I have buit it. And recommend it!

I take game models (heh heh, play on words) with about a cup of salt. The only game models I have taken seriously are those that come from Jane's Combat Simulations and this is only because of their reference systems and the fact that their parent company produces references that many call the "Blble of military intelligence."
Don't get me wrong, I still play them just the same, but games like Medal of Honor are not really meant for true accuracy.
That being said, I support the Kaga/Akagi mix and I think either would suffice.
Jeff

The little one is a destroyer. You would probably need to go to a warship site to identify it. It doesn't look right to me as on most of them the guns were in enclosed turrets. There was a Destroyer Escort class called the Matsu class that looks kind of close. I think this also is a mix of a couple of destroyers
