Howdy Mike!
She's(he) a Beauty! Very nice work and painting. I see you have done the correct paint scheme as the Bismarck was when it was sunk. This gets missed by many, with the white and black stripes painted over.

Good job,

Garry

Mike,

Is that 1/700? Looks great and I think you may have a winner there. Great build! How did you do the rigging?

Puma that's the 1/350 Kit. Check the post about the Grosser Kurfurst ( https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/46629&page=1 )about the rigging. Here's a Tamiya Bismarck I did about 5 years ago for Jonathan's benefit-not as dull as the above ......Mike T

I'm going for the in btwn version. I want the stripes on the hull, but don't trust my abilities to extend them over the superstructure. If you can remember, how were you able to get them so perfectly lined up. If it is simple I might try it, I've got several 4 foot long posters of the various schemes to help guide me.

I built up the superstructures and taped a ruler at the correct angle for the stripes to the edge of my table-then I shined a light at it and positioned the ship behind so that the shadow struck correctly. Then I made marks using a pencil and later cleaned them up and masked. You only need 1 of the 3 lines done in this manner as the rest can simply be measured from the first.

Hi Mike!!

I must say that your work is excellent and it serves as a very good example to copy
I just wish my entry on the Dreadnought Campaign has half the quality of your models

Let's wait and see!

Skipper

PS: I really like the detail of the painted over stripes - it looks definitly REAL!
