Special Hobby has a Type XIII U-boot in 1/72 scale in its new Special Navy line:

I'll have to get cracking on my Revell U-boot!

Ahoy David!

Garry had already posted this good news - for us, the submarine fans

But so far I haven't found any place where's available...

Skipper

I'll have to work on my sonar - I completely missed the first sighting!

I'll have to brush up on my Roman numerals too. No wonder I failed Latin.

There's a post on Hyperscale about an ordered kit arriving so it must have reached some retailers. I wonder how long it will take to get to Melbourne, Australia.

Too bad it wasn't an IX or an XXI kit. I'ld love to do a large type IX c or d with a wintergarten to go with my Type VII c

There are actually two new XXIII kits: one by ICM in 1/144 and the Special Navy 1/72 kit.

It's a bit confusing but it's the ICM kit that's now available. There's a review by Glen Porter on Hyperscale:

1/72 is my scale so I'll be waiting for the Special Navy kit.

Hopefully there will be a lot of interest in the Special Navy kit and that will convince Revell etc to invest in more 1/72 submarines.

I'm hoping the same thing David. I hope that if the 1/72 subs sell well we will see a few more. Type IX Type XXI and who knows a USA Fleet boat????? Could be at the rate things are going.

Are you listening Revell, Trumpeter, DML????
