I picked up a paint bottle at Hobby Lobby tonight then checked out their model section. They had two copies of a Revelle USS Intrepid aircraft carrier. Then I went over to Hobby Town and they had one also. Seems like this is a kit from the 60s. Have they re-released it?

Rodger I'm just not sure. I ran a search and did not find them on the Revell sites. Either Revell Monogram or Revell Germany. Unless they just haven't been updated yet.

This is the box art for it. From the web site I got this image from it's 1/720 scale. They don't say when it was introduced. Could it be they're actually coming out with something new?

Yup That's an oldie. Best to get the 700 scale Essex or Hancock kit from Hasegawa. Squadron is selling them for $13.46 so you probably can get them a bit cheaper from Great MOdels or Roll

Internet hobbies is having a clearance sale. They've got it for $12 and change. Of course I'm hoping it will still be around when Hobby Lobby has their next 1/2 sale. That will put it about $9. Might be a good one to have in the stash if the flat tops campaign takes off.
Funny how this one has surfaced all over the place all of a sudden.
