As leader of the Dive!Dive!Dive! Campaign, I think it only fitting to dedicate the campaign to Garry. After all, he was it's number one fan, and had it not been for his encouragement, I wouldn't have taken the helm.
We will all miss Garry and his awesome handpainted subs.
I was told I wasn't allowed to give out any awards until the campaign was over, but under the circumstances, I hope everyone will agree that Garry should get the very first award given out, and I can think of no better time than now to ensure he gets the credit he so rightfully deserves.

So, Garry, in honor of your successful completion of the Dive!Dive! Dive! Campaign, for the inspiration, faithfulness and guidance you provided fellow modelers, and for the spirit in which you participated, I hereby present you with the first ribbon awarded in the campaign. God bless you Garry.

you're more than right Darryl, Garry sure deserved this award! He was one of the most enthousiastic DDD builders and one of the most enthousiastic builders/big-a members I know.

thanks,
Martin

Darryl,
Very well put, and I couldn't agree with you more...I didn't know Garry personally, but I did correspond with him from time to time, and he will be missed badly by all..my thoughts and prayers go out to all of his friends and family.
Sincerely,
Mark

Wow, I'm shocked. I didn't know 'til seeing this post. He was such a big part of this forum. He almost was the forum. I didn't correspond with him, but I noticed that he always had something postive to say. Seemed like such a great guy. He will be missed....

Excellent Darryl.

I agree that Garry's enthusiasm for the campaign and the others played a large role in the participation by others and most certainly my own. His constant encouragement and passion for naval subjects fueled my being drawn to them. Now that he's gone and in light of the many discussions we had over the Gato I was building, once completed, it will hold new meaning to me.

In regards to Garry, I continue to stand in awe at how an individual can have such an impact on another's life.

Just for you Garry, Yo ho ho and...until we meet again.

I don't think words can explain my feelings right now. May the Lord bless him and his family, and let's never forget. Thank you for your time, Garry.

I'm new, so I hope this isn't otu of place...but from the many posts I've read in general, Gary pops up, and it's obvious Gary was a great human. Warm thoughts to his family, and wishing him all the best on his last journey.
