HI, I was looking through a Tamyia magazine at the local book store last night and came across a book listed under their Recommended Reading section.

"The Battlecrusier HMS Hood, and Illustrated Biography 1916-1941", by Bruce Taylor with Illustrations by Thomas Schmid. It's put out by Chatham Publishing. Check into chathampublishing.com.

Don't know if this is a new book or not but it looked interesting for you folks who are esp. interested in this ship and modern British warships in general.

Take care, Sgirty

Still waiting for a 350 scale mass produced plastic kit. Heard a rumor that ths is one of Trumpeters future planned releses along with an Indiana class BB and one of the major WW 2 Japanese carriers. Let's hope so

Steve, my greatest hope is also a good 1/350 plastic HMS Hood from the likes of Trumpeter. Right now I'd settle for the old girl in ANY scale as she was when she fought the Bismarck. Tamiya, Italeri, even Airfix, who should know better, all modeled her with the 5.5 inch broadside guns that were removed early in the war. Sigh! How many Bismarcks are there out there and NO decent Hood?

I saw a cover of ICM's catalogue, and it has the Hood on the cover... So a 350 kit is very likley, I think
She's my favorite ship... the first ship I've ever built was the Italeri 720 one

Cheers,
