Guys here are some pics of my first sub, the Revell 1:72 U-boat
I will admit that I'm not happy with this kit, I don't think the mouldings etc are up to the usual revell quality and the fit in places is not good. I'm planning on doing it as U69.

Carl The attachment points aren't too bad,now I've got new cutters they don't need quite so much cleaning up. I might just get a set of lookouts for the conning tower but that'll be all in aftermarket.

Yeppers Pete, I'd say you have a good start as well. I'd been thinking of starting mine again, but I need to work on my swiftie for WTTN and finsh the rest of the subs I started for DDD.
Keep those progress shots coming!

So far, and from what I can see you are doing a good job! About your unhappyness with the molds, I can only say that this and the Revell Schnellboot S-100 are top quality! And if we are going to compare with older ones....
Keep up the good work! If you'll need any help, just ask!!!

I have been building models for about 35 years now and I gotta sat that the molds on this U-boat are some of the finest injection ever done, it is done as well maybe better than the most expensive japanese kits. Sorry you were disapointed.

Looks good so far. I made a 1:125 Revell U-boat a year ago, and I remember the fit being awful. All went a bit pear shaped! And I was building it for a friend!! He seemed pleased with it, but I got it back a couple of months later! Hope yours goes better than mine. :-)

I think it looks good. I really have to stop looking at things like this because everytime I see that kit at H.L. I get the urge to bring it home, which isn't a good thing.
One review I read when it first came out, in FSM, said that the area around the torpoedo tubes didn't fit as well as they should, and that there were a couple of sink holes that needed to be dealt with. I supposed it's possible that just certain kits have issues.
