The Vesikko could be considered on of the prototypes of the Type II U-boats of the Kriegsmarine. For a complete history, from launch to museum condition visit this link:

http://uboat.net/boats/vesikko.htm

I have more pictures, but I couldn''t find them right now (meaning there will be an update on this Walkaround)
These pictures will be a good reference for anyone building the soon to be released Special Hobby 1/72 Type II U-boot

:-) :-)

Hi Dave
I almost fooled you on this one

It is in very good condition considering it's near the water, and it is exposed to heat and cold (on my visits to Finland I got -56ºC in February and 25ºC in September)... Considering all this variables and also it's age - it's in ship shape

Glad to see you around Dave

Keep safe,

Skipper

Hi Frank! (fixed the links)

Yes I know, but these I will pass and wait until the injection models to pop out! We have to have some "carrots" in front of us, even if it's on our mind :-)

I am also a member of SMML and Rusty White it's a real SIR!! His works are like jewels - and he is a good chap too

About the pilliage see the next reply

I have a few hundreds of pictures taken in Museums like the "Walkarounds" that are now on the Warship Area - and hundreds of pics taken during exercises (NATO) during my Navy years. Some of my most prized pictures are some taken to Soviet Kresta II and Sovremeny class ships in a surveillance mission

US Navy, Royal Navy, Spanish Navy, Portuguese Navy (dah), Nederlands Navy, Bundesmarine (Germany's Navy) and several other pics of my youth

I do not want to monopolize the Walkaround area, but I will gradually post some more

If you are having fun with them, and they are being usefull to (some) of you, the better

Enjoy enjoy you :-)

Honestly, I doubt anyone object to your deluge of reference photos. In my most humble opinion...if you've got em...post em. It can only make this site that much better and further the cause of Armorama's world modeling domination....

Yeah, right. If every dream came true, it'll be boring. But carrots ? Urrgh ....

I don't know him personally, but his "work" is excellent; the Fletcher class in 1/350 is most impressive artwork. Hats off to him.

Looking forward to any prey.
Don't be ashamed of being the GOD of references. I'll still call you "skipper".

Ciao

Frank
