The Italian kit manufacturer Italeri, caused a minor ''frisson'' of excitement when it announced (finally) a LCVP in 1/35th scale. Now we are able to bring the first images of this new release. No information as to its actual release date has been announced, although in the meantime, you can do a bit of gentle drooling! The full story can be seen:

this is good news for diorama builders as well as these were used in the Pacific theatre as well.
I am still tempted to purchase the last one so I may get this one as well.
Mind you I have to ask myself why buy now when I have so many others on the list to do.
cheers

Hi Jim!
Mine should be in the mailbox during this week!
It's already available at some online model shops around Europe - and even one of my usual LHS had it (on saturday they still had one!) - really nice looking model, a good companion to the LCM (3) and with lots of chances for dio's!
Cliff,
One thing about the model stack: it doesn't hurt to have one more there

Hey- young sailor, the Navy is made for you,
the pay is great, the chow is great,
get into the Navy blue.....
The Navy trains you,
and gives you a job that's great !!!!!
You're bound to go higher,
and when you retire.....
you'll only be 38....... !!!!!!!
To be sung with Vigour, and Budwieser..... although a cheap red wine will do....... :-) :-) :-)
I'm actually surprised I remember the words...... and for all you youngins... no I did not write that..... it is actually from a US Navy recruiting TV commerical that was popular when I sailed the seven seas......

 :-) :-)
You can tell Alexandra (Mrs Skipper) the same!
But I can handle a "small box" like this easilly

Don't worry Cliff, you shall finish them all, because, as long as you (we) have a porpuse and an objective things flow and life carry on! Strenght my friend!!!
Day by day, you see your models grow up, that shape, rust, ending another project! Some of them die (just like your truck and semi-trailler), but the main thing is to keep focus and "surronded" by friends (even if they are only callsigns, names and words and pictures of models) to help you, for you to help and most of all have fun with our hobby - yes, because it is a hobby!
Dave,

I am 38 now, and knowing you, you old salty dog, I don't belive on fell on that one!!! :-) :-)
Keep safe
Skipper

This kit looks like it's going to be a winner. I only wish I were better at figure painting to really give it justice. If nothing else it will inspire me to get better at figures. A couple of the DML 29th infantry sets, throw in a few resin figures, maybe some older Tamiya figures, and you've got a nice diorama.

Is this the same kit as the "LCVP w/3 figures" up for pre-sale at Great Models? If it is then was can fit another piece of the puzzle together and add an approximate price of $50US.

I'm sure that's it. They also give it a retail price of $65, so if it makes it to Hobby Lobby that would probably be their regular price, and we can hope for $32.50 on sale.

I haven't seen any Italerie kits at HObby LObby. I also see only the ocassional Trumppeter kit there. Mainly Tamiya, and Mini-hobbies and just lately Dragon. I don't look at cars or airplanes, so I 'm not sure what brands they carry there. The ony aircraft I'ld consider at this point is a 48th Vigilanti. Of course it's all moot as I'm struggling now to make bills let alone extras. Thank God for the stash and the stock up of the most used colors of paint two months ago.
