Visited one of the old boats I volunteered at many years ago.
Unfortunately most of the old guys have passed away. Only one volunteer there I knew. Got free run of the boat to take pictures, and an invite back to take more, anytime they are open. They even got the ladder out so I could climb aboard the MK1 PBR.

took about 75 pictures, so a gallery will be going up asap.

Steve, I volunteered there for a few years, so I know the old boat pretty good.... Was happy to see a lot of the projects I was working on actually got finished.

Hi Rodger

USS Ling is a Balao Class sub - a good reference to compare with the USS Pampanito walkaround

Dave,
The gallery is already set up here:
USS Ling walkaround

When the gallery is already prepared to upload photos again - Jim is working on it - please be my guest
I will make a proper "release" annoucement when ready

Thank you once again,

Hi Dave

I don't know why the gallery disapear...
Perhaps it was because of the changes Jim has made in the gallery domain...

But here it is again, ready for your upload:
USS Ling Walkaround Gallery

Keep safe,

OK.... OK... I actually got around to uploading the photos.......
I spent several years helping on the boat, restoring, repainting and giving tours..... but that was way back in the land of real teeth......

I tried to label as many photos as the old memory permits... remember I'm old and semi-senile, and semi-braindead.... so that adds up to.... Oh well yous guys do the math......

all photos are copyrighted, including the miss spelled words....... :-)
But feel free to use them for your own personal use.

I tired to label, and upload as a little tour... hopefully it worked...... :-)

I have a few more to upload of a PBR MkI, Katten, and Seehund.

If there are any more detail shots needed feel free to ask, and as soon as it gets a little warmer, I'll head back over to try to take them.

Thank you Dave

Yes it would be interesting to see the Kaiten, the Seehund and the PBR
When you can, and want to upload these, just ask for the galleries and I will set them up for you (us)!

Rui, there are only a few of them, so I'll just stick them in the Ling gallery, for now, hopefully when the weather gets warmer, and the sun doesn't play hell with the camera, I'll get more photos of them. The way they are situated outside, the sun is always shining directly into the lens, at different angles. Maybe a good cloudy day is needed on one of my days off..... :-) :-)

Keep safe
