Hello all;
How do you paint the deck and the bulkheads on 1/350 ships ? Do you use a mask of some kind ? Like on the gun tubs on the froward part of the ship how do you get a nice clean job ? I can see if it is two parts paint them, then put together.
But when its all molded as one piece, what then ?
I was working on my 1/350 BB-63 , wish to get some tricks down before I start on the Franklin and the Yamato.
Thanks guys Rigger ...........

I attach the deck to the hull trying to get rid of seam lines btwn the deck joints. Then I just paint the whole deck the appropriate color. I don't glue or put anything on the deck prior to doing this. I then go back and paint all the molded on fixtures. I would have previously built all subassemblies like turrets, and superstructues, basically EVERYTHING that has to get glued on after deck painting. If any glue spots, most get covered by either a little paint or spray flat (dull-coat). I think you'll find masking a mere waste of time as you are going to paint those fixtures a different color anyway
