Finally finished my first model since the Lexington to Saratoga conversion back in November, this time it's the Lexington herself...

No aircraft yet - that's a project in itself, since I plan (hope?) to crowd her deck with 50+ aircraft.

That's what I'm working on. I opted to backdate her to late 1940 though so I'm having to use the Yankee MOdel works conversion set to redo the island parts with a lot of work on the funnel area as well as the 8"batteries. Also have to work on converting Wildcats and Dauntlass' to Buffaloes and Vindicators. I've got the Iron Shipwrights resin aircraft to give me a practical guide.

Hi Martin

She looks very good!
My first entry for Flattops will be the CV-2 Lexington at the date she was sunk, nut only half the size (1/700).

I think that you already know what I am going to ask you:
M.O.D. Feature, please

Keep up the good work, and keep us updated

i discovered a build article over on the modelwarships net of a backdated Lexington. His pictures of the deck helped me out considerably. Mine will have the mahogany stain , the yellow landing stripes, and the big L-E-X over the fantail. Look forward to see how your version looks.
