Noticed on Plastic Soldier Review that Emhar are planning to make a 1/72 scale Viking ship. Can only be better than Heller's

Hi David
I know and have seen the Zvezda 1/72 sailling boats and they are very good!
If this Emhar Long Boat is as good as the Zvezda ones, than we have a winner
This is Costas Radopoulos (Major_Goose) Greek Triera, as an example

Hi Rui
The Zvezda Cog intrigued me when I saw it in Modelzone and I may be tempted to buy one.

I'm certainly familiar with the Viking ships, like the Golstad, (sp) ship, but I can't remember how long they were. What size would this model be?

Hi David and Rodger
Yes, I also have noticed the German Medieval Cog
It would be a nice comparison with the XIV and XV century Portuguese Caravels
As for the scale and dimensions on this Viking Long boat... David?
Can you give us details?
Is it in 1/72?

I had a look at Hannants website, and they list it as being 1/72nd (which would fit in with Emhar's figures). The Gokstad ship (which the Emhar model may be based on) is 76 1/2 feet long, so the model would be 12 3/4" /325mm (roughly) long.

Am I wrong..but wasn't the Gokstad ship used in a burial?
Later edit: Never mind, I should have looked at the link first to answer my own question.
