Yep, the Trumpeter 1/350 HOOD is in hand, priced at 59.57 Pounds (that's 69.99 for UK/EU customers), plus shipping. We've got 60 or so backorders, so we're gonna be a tad busy over the next few days....
If you haven't already ordered, now's the time!

ARGGGH!!! You don't know how this pains me. Here is my "holy grail" and I can't get it for a while. I hope you all enjoy her, and post plenty of pictures when you get her, so I can live vicariously through you all. If anybody happens to be in a LHS in Colorado Springs and notice the drool stains on their copy of the kit you'll know I've seen it on their shelf.

The Trumpeter 1/350 USS The Sullivans (Fletcher class) arrived with the Hood kits. I've shipped our first batch of The Sullivans out today.

Unless you're going to buy it and build it as soon as you get it I'd recommend patience. What were the Essex's when they came out? $110? I waited 6 months and got one for $60. Of course the PE sets set me back another $100 or so.... Even then it was a few months before I got around to building it

So if you know it's just gonna sit on your shelf for a spell get some self control! Let some others build it and get some idea of the pro's/con's-what need to be re-worked and let the aftermarket ball get rolling

Whittle down that stash in the meantime

Hello folks,
Just came back from my LHS, and I have to confess that the Trumpeter Hood ranks up there as one of the finest ship model ever. Trumpeter has outdone itself! It is breathtaking, the separate set of brass barrels and props is a nice touch, as not all of us will see the need for them. I was pondering whether or not the Hood would be a purchase, now it's just a matter of when!
