Hei Tuomas
I am sorry, but I never tried one of those Mirage subs...
But the ones that I have seen build make justice to the real stuff, and if you use the dedicated PE sets it will enhance the model greatly
Here's a Type II

Very similar to the Vesikko that is at Suonmelina, Helsinki

Already did - but when I was there it was closed, so all I got the chance to take was a tour outside (it was October)

Perhaps next time

Sarpis,
I have built several of the Mirage 1/400 U-Boats. In my opinion, they are the best modelling value on the market today. Granted, they are a smaller scale, but not that bad. Plus if you get the Photo etch from Mirage with them, you will have all yu need for a great little model. Hopefully, Mirage will continue the series. But I highly recommend the entire series, enjoy.......Bruce

Today i get my U-570. It's very nice little kit (About 17 centimeters) and cheap! Some parts are very little, but with good pincers you can do it. I just built some little thinks, i send pictures when it's going on.
Some pictures:

Sorry if my english is bad, im just 14 years. :-)
P.S. What Xtracrylix colours is good for "Dark Grey" and "Red Brown"? If you don't know Xtracrylix answers, you can tell what you know. :-)
Cheers Tuomas

HI There Toumas:
I have built 6 of those Mirage kits. I rather enjoyed their very simple build and was impressed with the quality / detailing for their very cheap price. As for painting, I use model master paints which are a Lichtgrau for the upper surfaces and a schwartzgrau for the underside. THERE IS NO RED on any of these. Have fun with these and it is a good choice of models to learn from.

Hello all
Yes, go for a Mirage Type VIIC. I don't have any but I do own a certain Type IID submarine from them (hum, I wonder if it's that submarine on the photo that Rui posted!!!! )!!! They are very cheap models and quite reasonable in details. Best luck.
