I have a question about the Iron Shipwright 1/350 HMS Invincible kit that I'm working on. The area in question is the "Aft Bridge Assembly". I can't visualize how photo-etch part "G" fits under the "aft skid beams", part 13. The PE part looks like bracing, but it's wider than the aft superstructure, and doesn't seem to have a "natural" break or bend in it. The kit instructions are a bit vague'. Anyone else working on this kit? Anyone have any ideas? I've posted this on several forums, with no success yet. I also e-mailed ISW, but haven't heard back yet.

I have the Invincible-class books by both John Roberts and Tarrant, plus the Sambrook Marine plans, but haven't come up with a satisfactory answer.

TIA...

Martin,
Can you give us some pics of the area.
You say 'boat deck' in the title and 'bridge deck' in the thread.
I think you mean the aft control position (abaft the after funnel)?

Good idea. Here's the area in question. The photo of the photo-etch didn't come out...

Hi Martin.

You might go to steelnavy.com and in the battleship gallery look at HMS Indomitable by Miguel Villarreal. I would think that the photoetch part should look something like a capital E. this is actually a truss with pillars to hold up the boat skid.

Cheers,
George
