Hey guys,

I purchased to Soviet naval dress hats this AM to place along side my wee collection of Soviet submarines and hopefully later, some surface ships. Anyone know of a guide that can ID what was what as far as the color of the caps indicating surface, submarine, enlisted, or officer?

Thanks Steve

Hey Steve!
I don't know of a guide, per se, but if you can snap a shot of them and either e-mail to me or put up here...I think I might be able to help you out, Bro! I have tons of reference at home...

Thanks guys,

Rui's links had what I was looking for. It appears that they are both sneior officers hats since the both have the gold leaves on the visor. One is a winter hat (black hat with visor) the other, a summer. (White hat with visor.) A cool note for me is, that the winter style hat was produced the year I left Europe. Sort of like my counterpart replacement. Thanks guys, you'll be seeing these in some shots of my Kilo, Alfa, and Typhoon when I finally finish them.

By the way Rui, that was a really useful site. There are a few others that the guy had that I'd like to go back and purchase. Now I can identify them as well.
