Has anybody noticed the banner ad for netmechants on this site, armorama, and modelgeek? In the lower right corner is some ship, I believe it's a battlewagon, but I can't make out which one, or which kit it could be? I think it could be a Nagoto or Mutsu before modernization, but I'm not sure. Anybody know who she is?

I initially thought it was a US cusier, might be British (agincourt?) don't think it is Japanese

I'm pretty sure it's not Agincourt. She had seven turrets, and I think you'd see two of them together midships, not the one this one shows.

I thought it might be Texas or New York, but the forward bridge area doesn't look quite right.

Now I have to go through my BB/BC book page by page to try to find her.

I would agree with the suggestion that it's a US BB. Have to admit that I sneaked a look at Netmerchants, but that didn't work

It's the battleships USS Texas, circa 1944. Looks like a picture of Derek Brown's scratchbuilt Texas, which was featured on HyperScale and in Fine Scale Modeler. Incredible, incredible model...

I'm pretty sure you're right Martin.

I found this picture of the Texas that looks more like the one on the banner.

I also found this link to Derek's model. I'm not sure, but I think he is out of Colorado Springs. That model was shown up in Denver anyway, and I've heard of somebody named Derek who does fantastic work here in the Springs. I'm going to ask at the meeting tonight.

SHAME - SHAME- SHAME

Here I am a resident of Texas and I couldn't get it right. I did look at the Texas, problem was I looked at the 1920's version.

However.....I am an Alabama graduate and I always can identify that beauty. and to make your humor even better, the guy that made my quote famous is a University of Alabama graduate

Actually, it's Iron Shipwright. Limited availability at the present. One of their better kits.

Strong, strong rumor has it the Trumpeter has a 1/350 Texas in the pipeline.

I've heard that rumor as well. While half of what they have released is Essex class modifications, nary a one is the Yamato or the Bismarck !!!!!!!!!!! I think Trumpeter has grabbed the bull by the horns when it comes to 350 scale. They push out other stuff, but I think this is going to become their show piece genre, kind of like Dragon and 35th scaleArmor.

Plleeeeaaaasssseeeee don't tease me. A Trumpeter 1/350 Texas. Now, I may not have the budget for a 350th Hood, but I'll start saving pennies TODAY for a Texas.

She's a beauty.
