I'm trying to determine the most efficient method for painting the USN measure 32 camo scheme. I'm currently building the Trump North Carolina and want to have a plan before I get too far along. Should I build the whole thing and then paint or go with sub-assemblies? I already ave the deck painted - used MM wood, basically as a primer to check my seam work (which turned out fair - IMHO- but thats another story!), then oversprayed with deck blue. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

build everything else as a sub-assembly and have it all painted and photoetch put on it you are using it. If you are going with the multicolored splinter camoflauge scheme you might want to get ahold of subhunter (Keny) He has a little side business he calls Gator's which makes a really wonderful mask set for this kit. I've had him do some custom masks for me and was extremely pleased with my results Welcome to the site. PLease also take the time to put a response down for our 350 scale poll to Dragon. They have asked for our opinions and as a fanatic 350 scale builder, I really want to see more offerings out there in this scale.

Hey Pete,

I have the paint mask for the North Carolina in stock. It's $15.00 and available on my website.
Gator's Paint Mask
You can also look at the tutorial on MSW that I did on working with paint masks.

Steve, thanks for the greeting and advice. I will definately respond to the Dragon poll.

Kenny, thanks for the link, although I don't believe your masks will work for me. I'm going for the scheme that the North Carolina wore in 1944 (for several reasons, the main one being I'm using the Lion Roar detail set and that time period is what this set represents). The scheme on your site does not match the photos I have found of the ship in 1944 and, I believe are what she wore earlier in the war. Thanks anyway though.

Peter,

I do custom orders also. The cost for a custom 1/350 paint mask for the USS NC is $15.00 + s/h. All you have to do is email me the artwork.

Kenny
