For VERY selfish reasons, I like the idea of a Destroyer Campaign. I've had the Tamiya 1/350 Fletcher just begging to be built, and now with The Sullivans out as well, and a new "Late War" Fletcher PE set, you can build a Fletcher very nicely out of the box OR in any one of the dozens of configurations from early war round bridge, to late war square bridge with Emergency AA. Not to mention the variety of Camo schemes!

(Gives me the excuse and deadline I need to actually do the kit!!)

Hi All

First I want to thank you all that supported the idea of the Frigate/Corvete Campaign - I haven't seen so much enthusiasm here for a proposal campaign in a long time
But I also would like to say that I really enjoyed Rodders (MightyRinox) idea of tutoring / Guiding a new ship modeler... perhaps we could combine both?

Definitely something to consider, Rui...what better way to preserve the love of the hobby, aye?

Man, this sounds great. I know that there is tons of stuff I could learn. I'm always looking for help even if it is just having good reference photos of somebody's model so I can see how they did it. Like Miguel's uboat. Perfect for weathering. I hope my next uboat looks as good.

Thanks

Okay so a Corvette is smaller than a Frigate but bigger than a patrol boat, that would make it the 3 square ship in Battleships?
:-)
Forgive me, but I really really am a ship Noob, I've built three so far and really enjoyed them, and seeing the thinning stash thinking about next purchases.......
So to that end, what are some interesting corvettes that are available in kit form?

Thanks Rodders

Aye, Rod...
Check this out, ye' landlubber...yearrrghhh!

Got my entry ready for the corvettes campaign...

Seriously, I have another one in my stash waiting to build, but it would have to be a LONG campaign. Campanula took me a little over two years to build

There are a lot of nice ideas in this thread though - especially keen on the smaller vessels, I'd love to build a Fairmile D and already have a couple of 1/72 E-boats stowed away.

I'd also be keen to mentor a newer ship modeller - although looking at some of the fantastic work displayed here recently perhaps I should be the one being shown what to do...

Anyway, look forward to seeing something new to sign up to. I'd also be happy to help in running a campaign if that's required

That's a good choice, Rod...I don't think that you would have a problem with it at all, judging by the work displayed in your gallery, mate...
