Here's what you are playing for.....

Ok, since this will be open to all crewmates, you’ll have to do some extra searching for this one. But, it can be found, because I did.

Here we go…..

List, according to Task Groups, the American carriers at Leyte Gulf.

The first correct answer will receive the Yamato and a set of PE rails (their on order from Squadron).

Good Luck
Kenny

Erin & Jacob....

Close but no banana.

Oh, Blaster, if you do get this, we have to see it in the completed gallery for Leyte Gulf. That's part of the deal.

If we combine the task groups for both the posts above, we have covered every carrier there. Can you be like King Solomon and saw the Yamoto kit in half for us

The pe is on order and should come in this week. PM me your address and we'll get her out to you ASAP.

Well ooray-hey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent over 2 1/2hours on the reasearch. Like the others, the big boys were pretty easy to find as was Taffy 3. The hard part was the other 2 Taffy's. I pulled up a site that listed every career of the CVE's. Problem was it only listed the Casablancas. I checked San Bernadino Stairts and all that and finally figured out Samar Island. Tracked an order of battle down for the TF 77 and viola.

This is the first time I have ever won something of significance. I'm still looking to maybe pick up a cheap off-brand of the Yamato that can be built as Musashi for the battle. There is a couple on ebay I'm shooting for. I built the Tamiya kit oob (with pe rails added later) which is fianl configuration in 1945.

Well, off to ebay now....trying to pick up some vintage 1200 scale stuff the Mighty Mo, 'Zona ,the Yamato and (yipee) the Littorio.

Oops missed out TG38 1, but the observant would have picked that up. Well we can't make it too easy for the campaign members when we do some research for them can we

Believe it or not guys, I did my own research. I literally sat here with 4 books and digging on the internet for 2 and a half hours finding that stuff. I later saw you had gotten most of the Taffy's. I was more interested in the fact that no one had won and I was frantically trying to get my answer in. Everyone else being wrong is why I did my own research as I didn't know what was wrong. Afterwards I looked in detail and saw. Erin was soooooo close. The area he missed, I would have mssed had I not found the order of battle listing, that and when reading operational histories of ALL the Casablanca class CVE's found that the Saginaw Bay had left the battle area a day or so before the action occured.

I just won another 350 scale on line. Cost me $20 and is an off-brand (probably the Academy clone) but this gives me back up parts and the chance to do all three versions of the Yamato. I built the Tamiya kit around 20 years ago. Next bid is for the Lions mark gun tube set this evening. I promise I'll do you all proud on this kit as it has becomevery special to me.
