While working on the resin CMK kit of the ward room for my Revell Uboat Type VIIC last nite there was a horrible accident.

While using a bit too much pressure (I admit that part totally) to hold a bulkhead in place while the CA was drying, I sent it to below crush depth.

The deck broke and numerous pieces went flying across my workbench. Fortunately there were no casualties except for me ego and pride and I was fortunate enough to find all of the pieces that did break off.

I am in the process of repairing what damage that I did and hopefully it will not ruin the integrety of the finished product and I can sail forth to victory over the stupidity of what I have done and that I will learn from it!

Thank you for listening to me!

Ouch! If the worst comes to the worst, claim it's depth charge damage...

Doug,
Your subject title scared the you-know-what out of me. Maybe I am getting old and senile but when I saw your post my heart skipped a beat and I quckly opened your post expecting to hear that a boat had gone down. So maybe you won't be offended if I tell you that I was kind of glad to see it was "only a model" I felt kind of foolish as I should have realized that I was on a modeling forum. Hope you find the lost pieces and successfully conduct repairs. Might be an opportunity to do a little scratchbuilding. At least that is what I tell myself when the carpet monster swallows up a piece of whatever I'm working on.
Good Luck!

Thinking about it after I posted it with the title, Cob, I realized what it looked like! Sorry about that but I can see what you mean very clearly.

As for the depth charge damage, I'm pretty sure I can fix everything. I just gotta stay calm and, if and when, I get a bit frustrated, take a break for about half hour, then come back to it.

This is the biggest piece of resin I've worked with, so this is a new experience for me.......

And not to forget to mention, I do believe I found all of the pieces that plumetted to the depths of the floor in my workshop.

I had the exact same reaction as COB. Double sigh of relief to also read on to find you have been able to find all pieces and repair damage. Just like a true submariner.
