ok I'm in! I have a tamiya 1/72 vosper patrol boat (with the motorized parts). committing to this campaign might just push me to getting it built.

Well Hello, mate!
That's FANTASTIC News, welcome aboard!!
We have Plenty of time to plan and research our builds, seek out and pick up any A/M fiddley-bits to add to the accuracy, and the most fun for me, just discussing and talking about modeling!

PS; Don't forget to visit the campaign mainpage and enlist! (if you already haven't!! )

While I won't be building for this campaign (I do it for a living), I'd be happy to act as a resource. For those of you who don't know me, I've been researching small combatants for about 40 years, drawn plans of them for about 30 years, written magazine articles for about as long, and have co-authored/co-illustrated three books on them, including the two volume (so far) "Allied Coastal Forces of World War II" with John Lambert. My plans collection runs into several thousand items, mostly WWII and Viet Nam, so I may have items of interest.

On the subject of references, I've just submitted a review of Osprey's 'British MTB 1939-1945', so you should be seeing that online in the not too distant future I hope.

Hi Al,

Welcome to Model Shipwrights, mate!

I knew that your name looked very familiar to me! I know of your website quite well, I always direct people towards the site who are looking for particular plans...it's a pleasure having you as an MSW member, and it would also be a pleasure if you would build along with us in this campaign!
Now that you've let the cat out of the bag of your knowledge, mate, I'm sure that there will be many MSW members who will pick your brain (myself included! )...so c'mon Al, think it over, and why not enlist in the campaign??? It's a great way to meet other modelers, make good friends, and share in the fun of a whole bunch of model building!
Cheers!

Well I guess I'm in, Gunny!!! This is my first group build in cyber space! I intend to build a Vosper 73 footer in 1/72 scale, an old Airfix kit I picked up in the backblocks of Ontario a couple of years ago. If time permits I may also atempt a conversion of an early (1940) Vosper to represent MTB 74 for the St Nazzaire raid in 1942.

Now That's the spirit, Mate!
Welcome aboard, Ray
Don't forget to enlist at the campaign mainpage!
You're build sounds great, Bro, and we should have plenty of time to make the additions and adjustments that you wish to do...
What a great way to start the day!

Cheers!

Ray, there's some good pics of MTB 74 in the book I've just reviewed. Let me know if you want some scans or anything.

Al, nice to have you onboard! I've got Vol II of "Allied Coastal Forces of World War II: Vosper MTBs and US ELCO" in the post, looking forward to browsing through it.
