hi Guys,

whilst drooling at the Hood in the LHS, SWMBO did an amazing thing and bought me the Lion Roar Yamato Super Detail Set! Still in shock...
Anyway, not sure if I can write a good review, but here's a prelimary glance:

Brass barrels for the Main, secondary AND 12.7cm guns
Brass screws
Brass anchor chain
Copper wire
14 Frets of PE
9 pages of instruction
all packed in a nice box with colour pictures

Looks like I will have to start building this ship soon!

Lim Tee,

I was so impressed with the Lionroar Yamato detail set, I bought it and I do not have the ship kit yet. The main reason being I am building the Trumpeter North Carolina using the Lionroar detail set. Highly impressed with the quality of the photo etch and the directions are illustrated well and clearly written.

Ordering the LionRoar Yamato set from Lucky model is somewhere in the vicinity of $95 US. Brass gun tubes are very very expensive. I went a dfferent route. Going with an Eduard PE set for around $30 US and got the Lion Roar main gun set off of Ebay for around $15us though full retail takes it to $25 I believe.I don't have the secondary or the large AA gun tubes, nor propellers and probably less brass detail though. I got lucky when I got the lion roar set for the North Carolina. It was the first one they had done and on a pre-order picked it up for around $65 US. If you want the end-all to superdetail a Yamato and you can afford it Go with the full set....they are magnificent
