Hi Mike
Great Mauritania and also excellent the Dio with the Ticonderoga CG and Arleigh Burke class DDG!
Excellent excellent!
BTW, was the Mauritania a requested job or was that the result of reading "Liners in Battledress"??
Just curious

Love that Mauretania!! I have one in the stash...always wanted to do that camo. I'm not much for modern ships, but that's a nice dio too!

I hope you took lots of pictures of that "dazzle" scheme. I know one of our new members William (Dubdubs) is especially interested in doing one and this may give him another alternative to the PT boat scheme we found for him.

Mike
that's some impressive paintjob on the Mauritania.
It must have taken a while to mask off all the aerias.
I like the way all the chimneys have different patterns..
I have always wondered how you guys manage to mask full areas without removing the basic paintlayer when removing them?
I masked my VII-c and removed just about as much paint as tape at the same time... , then I switched to holding a piece of paper in place, slightly wet, and spraying with the other hand... (also a good aerobic excercise at some points...)

Hi Warvos
At least with my own experience, the answer is Tamiya Masking tape - it's avalable in several widths and although with a low tack, it really fixes well on the surfaces, even irregular and keeps a good demarcation line...

Björn,
I don't know if you have it there, but I use painter's tape. It's much different from regular masking tape in that it is very low tack. Also try autobody painter's tape.

That is a superb Mauritania - musty have taken an age to paint!
On the masking tape subject - I usually stick the tape loosely to a trouser leg (it's best to use your own for this!) and then apply it to the model; that takes off some of the 'tack' and so you run less risk of lifting the older paint.
