Hi guys;
After a long search I'm about ready to give up. Does anyone know where I can find an affordable kit of a Belknap class guided missile cruiser that would match up to the USS Wainwright? I was a Deck-Ape on CG-28, and have recently been lamenting the ships demise (they used her for target practice in 2002). In looking for a decent model, the only thing I've been able to find is a resin kit that starts out at $275.00 and that's more than I really want to pay. Any help you can afford me would be greatly appreciated.

Ahoy, Steve,
Welcome to Model Shipwrights, Mate!
I know what kit you're speaking of (Total Navy), and it IS a fantastic version, but I know what ya mean about the cost. . . I don't know of any other TRUE matches (without a little scratch building, that is!), but I'm going to look around, and I'm sure if someone else out there lurking in our waters has an idea, we will both know of it!

Steve:

I know zilcho about modern cruisers / frigates / destroyers and the like. You might pose the question over on warship model net. I seriously doubt you will find anything other than the resin kit, but someone might give you an idea on how to scratch it using an existing plastic kit
