Well I’ve just found a piece of oak the right size for the base for my IJN Sakura. Just needs squared up and the edge routered.
So I figured I’ll ask you guys what sort of edge I should use on this base.
Really doesn’t matter to me so let me know what you think would be best.
The following is a list of bits I have available and a brief description for the non woodworkers out there.
Round over : Round off the edge http://www.cheyennesales.com/catalog/cmtround.htm
Round over with bead: Same as above but with a raised area above it
Cove: Sort of the opposite of a round over. http://www.cheyennesales.com/catalog/cmtcove.htm
RomenOgee: Cant describe to well. Sort of a combination of the above 2 that almost makes an angled S shape. http://www.cheyennesales.com/catalog/cmtrogee.htm
Chamfer: 45 degree angle. http://www.cheyennesales.com/catalog/cmtcham.htm
Give me your opinion and I’ll use witch ever is liked the most.
Edit: I’m adding links to each tip of bit so you can see what they are.

So thats 1 for cove and 1 for romen ogee
So what do the rest of you guys think?
Also to give you guys an idea heres the base so far.
I know it’s a little on the large side for this ship but I wanted it like that so I can practice making the water.

I like to keep it simple & do a 45 ... makes it easier to mount a simple "label" ...
What I usually do is cut/route a frame to go around a base of simple plywood -- that way the "scenery" is held in and at the level of the frame.
Are you going to lay your water atop the base with no frame/walls around it ?

Most likely with this one. The stuff I’ll be using for the water is a gel that appears to the thick enough that I wount need to worry about it running over.
But now I may end up putting a small temporary frame around it to keep everything square until its dry. I’m not sure yet.
Never really worked with the stuff before so this is all new to me.

So far we have Cove 1, Roman ogee 4, Chamfer 1
I’ll probably get around to working on it this weekend. So anyone else who wishes can still give there opinions.
