Hey guys. Tuesday night my wife and I were watching Miami Ink on TLC. One of the tattoo artist was getting a special tat celebrating ten years of tattooing. Well, that got me thinking. Next year will be my 30th year building models. I proudl told that to my wife. She replied "What would you like for your 30th modeling anniversary." Well, I told her that I would think about it. The next day, I "floated" the idea by Renee that I get the new version of my very first model, the USS Alabama. She asked about what that would run. I guesstimated by the 1/350 NC, and she said ok. So, it looks like I need to start getting my Bama research in line.

sorry Gator but the earliest you'll see a 1/350 plastic "bama will be "possibly" next year. Yankee Model Works has it in resin for $360

Hey Mike, next year is when I'm expecting to get it. That's when I'll celebrate 30 years in modeling.

Hmmm, thirty years modeling. . .Gator, does that mean that you were born with an x-acto in your hand!?!?! :-) :-) :-)

Naw, just kidding mate!! (I haven't seen 30 in a few - - years myself!) #:-)

But seriously, Ken, that's a really cool idea, and extra cool that the missus wants to do something special for ya (and the resin kit in question WOULD be perfect! ) Start reading up now, my man, and make a real commemorative showpiece!

Gunny, I haven't seen 30 in a while too, my friend. I joke with people that I'm 37 with the body of a 57 year old. :-)

Dave, actually a tattoo is in the works! :-) :-)

My friend who drew this for me is going to add a baby gator crawling over the papa gator!.

Hi Kenny

What a great gesture to celebrate the 30 year milestone.

You are one lucky guy.

I like the concept drawing for your tattoo very cool.

Regards

Yeah, she's pretty special. The face on the pinup is drawn off of a photo of her from high school.

Hope the plastic version's out before your anniversary!

Since I figure I've been "modeling" since I was 7 or 8 ("modeling 'cause those early days were full of tube glue and fingerprints) I'll have to wait 3 or 4 years for my 40th

Mike T Oh by the way I just got a revell 1/72 type VIIC 41 off ebay for $55.98 total early yesterday morning (12-1 am) and it was here this afternoon.

What that means is that you're old than me! :-)
And as far as the Bama and PE, that's between you and your better half. My deal is set.
