Ahoy mates!
I'm sending out a general request to all MSW members who might be interested in contributing to our sites overall content, whether by product reviews, build features, walk-arounds,or Models-On-Display!
Our databanks here at MSW are HUGE, and we can sure use some regular content submissions. . .don't be shy, it's not hard at all!! If you have a stash full of ship kits, old or new, we would all love to see an in-box or built review!
Got a heap of fine looking ship models? How about picking the best of the best, and snapping about 15 or 20 good digital photo's and sending them in? It just may be the next Model-on-Display on the front page of MSW!
How about a really cool technique for weathering, or making realistic water bases? A step-by-step tutorial would make a mighty fine addition for any other modeler who might be looking for this info!
Need help? Just shoot me a pm with your question(s), I'll gladly walk you through it! For a great start, HERE
is a fantastic how to article for writing reviews!
So, whattaya' waiting for? Just follow the link below to our submission guidelines to find out more, and remember, if you have any questions at all, just ask!
Submission Guidelines
If you have comments or questions please post them here.
Thanks!
~Gunny

That's GREAT, Al, Thanks!
Now, all we have to do is to keep the new content flowing, which will enrich the site overall, as well as building up the data-base, and hopefully attract many more new members (who will all want to help the site by submitting content of their own!
)
We have a great bunch of modelers here, with enormous talents, who can really contribute soooo much not only to the site, but to the hobby overall. . .and I know that we're all on time schedules, trust me, and I can completely understand the lack of it!
But if you look at it this way, that kit that you're working on (or about to start working on) has more than likely NOT been covered here on the site, why not give it an inbox review before you start?
And as you build, snap some shots along the way, take a few notes, and then when it's done, pen up a full build review, or a feature article highlighting the build and your modifications, or a Model-on-Display with loads of close-up detail shots!
MSW is a member driven website, and all members are encouraged to contribute to the site. . .remember, the ship is only as good as you make it to be!
Thanks!

Gunny,
I did an in-box review of the Trumpeter Buckley & the WEM PE set for IPMS. I have now started an online build of these items into HMS Ekins, a Captain Class Frigate, for my chapter website and will be glad to echo it here. I can host the pix in my gallery or better yet use those already on my club site.
All I need is for you to give me the go-ahead and tell me which forum you would like it in. My intent woulkd be for it to be a running series of messages and a constructive criticsm build -- I'm not lecturing on how-to and am certainly not an expert and would be glad to have any comments on the history and/or the build ...
My intent is to have it done by Feb '07 ...

Hey John!
That sounds like a great idea!
You can start your WIP posts in "The Carpenter Shop" forum, or if you wish, in the "Dockyard" by class and/or type. . .it would make for a very interesting on-going discussion/instruction type thread.
And if you wish, you could also submit the inbox review for both the Buckley and the PE set seperatetly (or together, for that matter!) here at the site. . .the process is quite simple, either using the on-line review webform or just zipping up the file and photo's and uploading to the Support Center. Remember, we welcome ALL member sumissions here at MSW!! Thanks for the input!

Gunny, OK, I need a few days to handle some other things, then I'll start. The in-boxes will be part of the lead-in to this ... I also need to go play with some test posts for formatting purposes ... unless there is a good FAQ that tells me what html is supported in a message ...

Gidday Mark
Great to see so many offers of content.
Dont forget you have content coming from me both in box reviews and build reviews.
The only obstacle I have is that I dont presently have a digital camera. I am able to borrow one which I am organizing at present. We are getting our own digital camera at Christmas.
Once I have the digital content look out the stuff will be hitting that submission desk.
Regards
Sean

Hi Mark,
I will have a go at doing some in - box reviews as my built ships are well... almost none, but that should change very soon as I will be picking up the required paints this weekend.
How does a review of the WEM HMS Renown sound to you?
and/or
Combrig HMS Conqueror
Let me know and I will have a go in a couple of weeks.
Ciao

And I will send another OOB build review when I do my next ship, directed towards those who hand paint their models for various reasons, similar to the Trumpy Hood build already in the MSW pipeline

Sean, Luciano,
Bring it on, mates!

And please, don't stop there!!!
We need new, refreshing content on a regular basis. . .it would be great to see a new review up every week or so, along with a new feature article as well. . .and I know that there are PLENTY of great looking ship models out there just waiting to be photographed, and sent in for a Model-On-Display feature!!
We've got a fantastic crewlist here at MSW, one that IS growing, and again, we welcome member supplied content!
Thanks, mates!

Hey Gunny,
I can give you a couple MOD features. One with the Baton Rouge and another one with the LCC. Build features will be harder with show season fixing to start.

That's great, Ken!
I know a certain "star spangled submarine" of yours that will make a great MOD when done as well!

Sounds good to me, neighbor!
And, now that the Skipper has resurfaced, I'm sure that we'll see more regular additions here at MSW!
Cheers!

Hi Guys,
I realise that things sometimes move slowly but........
I sent my stuff in 31 days ago. 21 Days ago I sent a reminder asking if they wanted to use it or not.
Gunny also forwarded an article I did as well.
To date I have not had a reply or even an acknowledgement. Now if the stuff is not up to standard and they don't want to use it, well fine. Either way it would have been nice to at least have had a response to my submissions, even if it was negative.
Not impressed.
Cheers

Hi Alan
The lateness of the reply is not because of content quality - it is my own fault!
I am working on severall Features to be published soon, your own included
Sorry if this has resulted in a bad feeling about the quality of your work

Ah you're back, no problem, just wasn't sure if they were going to see the light of day or not.
Nice to see you back at the helm.
