Kenny,
You'll have to thin down the exhaust pipe at the rear. It looks way over scale

Looks very nice Ken, great work mate!

You forgot to add on your "to do" list mount the scale woven rope fenders that a friend of mine promised to make for this project. . .

Thanks for the update, Bro!

I'll have to check that out. I'm not sure it exhaust. I don't know how smart that would be putting an exhaust at the water line. I will carefully thin it out.

Hey Gunny, are you talking about the friend that is causing a cord shortage on the east coast? :-)

Not really. Maybe some wear on the deck, but she never hit the beach so not a lot of wear and tear like a LCVP.

Hi Kenny,

You have probably already noticed that one of the cleats on the port side is missing on the UDT version. I replace mine with some from the LCM and can let you have a couple if you need them. I'm sure I save the spare yellow one but can't locate it at the moment.

Don't know what you intend to do for crew but I have the 3 figs that came with the kit if they might be of any use.

Cheers

Hey Alan. Thanks for the cleat offer, I'll have to take you up on that. As far as the crew goes, I'll need to find some Pacific dressed crewmen. Thanks for the offer.

Kenny, coming a bit late to the party here. I saw your use of the powered toothbrush as an orbital sander. I would say that if you haven't already done so to contact a Patent Attorney and get a patent put on your concept. What you have is a brilliant idea that could be developed much along the same lines as the Dremel. I can see a ton of uses for it in the automotive as well as hobby industry. Say a mini-buffer for working on those hair line stratches and scrapes on your car finish. Polishing eyeglasses....

Well now. . .
Hey Al!
I don't have any pre-made for 1/35 yet, mate. . .In the past (How long's it been, Gator? ), few weeks? that I've been messing with this project again (got put on the back burner for a little while!) it has played into quite the saga!
Hopefully, success will soon be had, and I can get Gators (and how many do you need Al !?! ) made to add to his LCC. . .keep yer fingers crossed (do gators have "fingers"?. . .) Ken, still awaiting next shipment!

Yes, we have fingers, they're a little scarred up, but they're there. :-)

Hi Gunny,

If you get the time 4 to 8 would be good!!!!! I'd like to use some on the boats to replace the poor Trumpeter ones and also a couple on the Pier Proper. I may have to do a trawl for some more Old Tyres not all who said they would contributed.

I had a go at making some but failed miserably and ended up with a small platted piece of rope lol, lol.

Anyway there is no hurry, building on the Pier proper won't commence before March at the earliest and is likely to take several months. I might try some of the AA type, wrapped around posts which should be simple enough to do lol, lol.

If you can great, if not, no worries.

Cheers

Ahoy mates! Here is the finished landing craft control from the USS Knox. Enjoy.

Thanks everyone for the imput and suggestions. Thanks Alan for all your help. I think I'm ready to tackle a LCM now. Thanks Mark for your help when a shipmate was wounded (I know I haven't gotten them yet, but I have faith. )

Hi Kenny,

Hope you enjoyed the build, you've gone for the clean look. Nice mount you have her on.

The radios and the cabin look really good. I'd be inclined to give her top deck a wash to pickout/highlight the fittings.

Are you moving on to a 1/35 LCM 3 or LCVP???

Thanks for sharing the build it's be an interesting one. Do you have a set of plans for the cabin you'd like to share? I'd like to make another one of these, if I ever come across another kit.

Full steam ahead on the next one then

Cheers

I do, but I'll need to look for them. I think I'll start saving my pennies and do the LCM next.

Hi Kenny,

Thanks mate.

Italeri or Trumpeter? There's a good comparison on PMMS if I remember correctly. The Italeri is a more interesting build but the .50 cals on the Trumpeter are better and you get the option of RN or USN, Of the two I would opt for the Italeri kit. That said you might get the Trumpeter kit for a lot less as it didn't sell as well as the Italeria one, I got mine for a tenner (£10.00) or less and cost is always worth looking at.

BTW, the LCP (CC) looks great, nice job.

Cheers

Yeah Baby, she sure turned out sweet, Gator!

Now, all you need is a few realistic looking rope fenders in the proper scale to make the picture!

Now that the Holiday hoo-ha is put to bed, I can get back to fulfilling my promise, Ken.

Patience is a virtue. . .
