Looks good. The deck officer is a tad overdressed for the South Pacific though.

It appears to be a all lot more of sets comming out, since this is named Set 1!
They look good, even if the Oficer looks overdressed as Kenny so well mentioned, but still acceptable (after all he's not doing any effort )
Lookouts, deck crew, gunners... there's a market for these (for sure)

GreatModels newsletter mentioned up comming resin sets from CMK, along the lines of their U-Boats sets. (Rumor Mill--- Rumor Mill---!!!)
:-) :-)
I argree, the officer with the "foul weather jacket" (as we called them in my days in the Navy, and not to be confused with the lighter weight 'Blue Working Jacket' looks a little out of place with the guy wearing the "G"-Tee shirt.

I'll bet in a year there will be as many aftermarket sets of goodies for the Gato as there was for the Type VIIc

It's an almost given that there is going to an absolute plethera of A/M items available for this beast shortly, by all A/M manufacturers. . .CMK have these two sets listed now, and plans for at least three more sets. . .

Hi Ed,
have you tried ModelsbyMicktser? http://www.modelsbymickster.com/ he usuallh carries a good range of VIIC and Sub stuff.
AMP have torpedo shutters out in 3 styles http://amp.rokket.biz/am_1_72_gato_sets.shtml anf fabric flags, with a Portsmouth Limber hole set in PE in th works, and possibly bow limbers for EB and Portsmouth boats, and a torpedo tube and outer door set. May do an anchor well set (to both correct kit and add portside), and a few other goodies.
