Hi guys, small progress on the ship, all 3 sections are now together and reenforced so it's sturdy as a rock l.o.l.
Next step will be replicating the hull and rivit work [ millions of rivits ].
I have aluminium [ sp ? ] tape and bags and bags of small nails for scratch ship building from Artesian Latina [ sp ? ].
These quite nicely represent round headed rivits.

Absolutely impressive Cheyenne!
"progress"? i can't remember the first step of your work, what is the boat, and what scale is it if you don't mind telling? seems like a HUGE project!

Thanks Gunny, Jean I started this awhile ago, but with a battle with my digi cam, I accidently erased all my camera file content, doh !!! I had all the progress shots of the build up to this point, then I Homered out. Not just on this, but all my albums and other stuff from my gallery.
There was just so much stuff and albums lost, the only pics. left are from some early builds that one day I'll get around to re filing them.
Cheyenne

Oh yeah, sorry Jean, it's 1/35th scale, in real life it's about 6'3" long and if I remember correctly 170 to 180 feet [ ? ] in 1/35th.

Edit : Gunny what area are you from in Penn. I'm scratching my retirement move from Vermont to Wayne - Pike county area by Wallenpaupack.

Hi Cheyenne,

Looking first class, you'll need a BIG harbour for that one :-) :-)

Looks really great now all the sections are joined. A lot of rivets though.

Nice to see you've had some time to work on this one.

Outstanding.

Cheers

Hi Cheyenne!

Astonishing looking vessel. Good luck on the riveting. Hope you still have all your marvel after that :-)

35th scale..................that is going to be a real nice display item when it is finished. I sure ca see a lot of hard hard work has already gone into it. You need to make one of those rivet punches someone posted about in the tank section

Wonderful work! I admire those who can scratch build with this amount of detail. What type of wood are you using and how to you shape it?
