Just caught Thunderball on the tube (my all time favorite Bond !)
Wondered a couple of things, first was there ever a model created of the Disco Volante. and 2 what ever happened to the real one. I'ld also be interested in the size (specs ) of the real one. I did a google and came up with info that this is the name of a band, and of course the ship name in the movie. No px

Well, thanks to Gator and Tracy White, I've been able to piece this together. The name of the yahct wa the Flying Fish. It consisted of the famous hydrofoil. Hollywood added the cocoon part. The rumors are, the cocoon ended up in Florida someplace as someone's house boat and the Flying fish was up for sale in Miami after the movie. Haven't been able to track dwn a model ever being released, but someone did build one of just the hydrofoil front section scratch out of something called a PT20 hull. Well, maybe Sabot will stumble onto this thread. He's the expert on old Aurora models. Maybe it was a Hasbro Toy?
