Ahoy mates.
To coincide with Gunny's announcement of the new release of the Myoko and Nachi, here is a little history on the ships.
Between them, the Myoko and Nachi fought in every major naval battle in the Pacific. Both were part of the invasion of the Philippines and Aleutians. The Myoko and Nachi were also present at the Batle of the Java Sea, and the Myoko was part of the infamous Tokyo Express and the Battle of Santa Cruz. Also both ships participated in the Battle of the Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf later that year. The Myoko was part of Kuritia's Center Force while the Nachi was struck by a retreating and battered Mogami from the Surigao Strait.

Very good Gator. I wondered if you knew about Combined Fleet. It's a great site. I recall one quote from a Royal Navy officer after visiting Nachi who said something to the effect of "now THIS is a REAL warship."
Have you by chance read Shattered Sword? It's written by the guys responsible for Combined Fleet. I keep meaning to look for it at the local library but keep forgetting to.

I love that site. In fact, it is the very first site I added to my favorites when I first put internet on my home computer. I had it on my workcomputer back when I worked at Nokia
