Cybermodler.com is reporting a new version of Trumpeter's Liberty Ship, the USS John W Brown. http://www.cybermodeler.com/news/images/tsm0407.pdf From what I can tell the Brown was fitted to carry troops, unlike the earlier Liberty ship Trumpeter released.

Sounds interesting.

They also are letting loose some more types of aircraft for US and British BB spotter aircraft...I caught Kingfisher and Walrus but don't rememer the other 2. Wonder if the new Libety comes with LCVP's in 350 scale. Wonder how hard it will be to convert the O'Brien to the Brown

Yeah, I caught the new kits on thier website. Did not see a thing though on the ALABAMA or the Mass. Battleships.

Not an expert on this, but I think the troop carriers looked much like the cargo carriers but had more life boats/rafts & maybe armament differences ....

Interesting that the official John Brown site claims that the ship was launched on Labor Day, along with five other ships, all named for labor leaders.

It might have been planned for a launch on Labor Day but the 27th of September is not only too late to be Labor Day, but in 1942, that day fell on a Sunday. (Could have meant the 7th of September which was Labor Day that year.)

Eithere way, troops or cargo, it's nice to see models of the Liberty ships.

I saw the Walrus and the Spitfire recon aircraft. My first thought was, "what ship would THOSE go on?" Then it occurred to me the Tamiya KGV ships could use them. THEN I noticed it said, good for any 1/350 Battleship or CRUISER! Gad, what if this is a not so subtle hint that some RN BB or Cruisers were coming up?

Don't get too excited Rodger....there are those expensive resin kits out there, and based on the resin aircraft I've gotten my hands on...Trumpeter knocks theirs totally out of the ball park.
