Looks like Italeri hit a home run with their first at bat. Really nice looking impressive kit here.

Any idea on price yet? Not that it really matters, as Rodger said... they've hit it out the park on this one... should be worth the price for the Ack-Ack gun alone...

Hey Rudi!
Right now you can pre-order from many outlets, I've been in at Squadron for $134.98 for what seems to have been a loooooong time!!!!
How bout it, mate, can we talk you into building one of these for our upcoming "Military Small Craft" Campaign!?

I've just published on one of my sites a full review of the Elco 80 sprues. It's in Italian but the pics can be read by everybody.
If you're interested in having a look at it you can reach it clicking here.
Ciao
Fabio
P.S.: if you think it can be useful to you I can arrange a version in english too...

How long do you think it's going to take for somebody to make resins of the diesel engines or full interior parts? :-) :-)

Tom,
unfortunately I haven't got any idea about it, but usually it doesn't take long once a kit it's offficially released. Italeri will start shipping the Elco 80 immediately after the Nurnberg fair that will start on the 15th on december.

Well, the engines ought to not be too huge a problem, they are Packard-Merlins like in the P-51. It appears there is a heck of a lot of room in the chart house and galley/dayroom/quarters as well. Looks like Italeri had crazed AMSers in Mind when the kitted this.
I am looking forward to this jewel, even if it is a tad pricey.
