Hi there

I had a rush of blood to my head at the weekend and bought the above model. I intend building it OOB, does anyone have any tips/comments on this model - it's years since i made a ship.

Thanks in advance

Hi Andy

Welcome aboard Modelshipwrights
As for your question... Sorry, but I can't help you on this particular model - but my guess is that it's one of the earlyer Trumpeter releases, so it should be a little less accurate than the last ones. But it should be an easy built, even if it is a 1/500 model

Ah yes, ANOTHER NEW CREWMATE!

Hi Andy, and as Skip has said earlier, Welcome aboard mate!

Trumps Eisenhower, eh?. . .
Not a bad choice to jump back into the shipwright business, mate, the build should go fairly easy for ya, the one piece hull makes things a bit easier for sure. . .put up some progress pics as you go (don't be shy, we don't bite!), and ask lots of questions!
Cheers,
~Gunny

Ahoy Andy. I have Trumpy's 1/500 Nimitz. It's really a nice kit. You'll have to fill the switch hole, but that's no big deal. I wish someone would make some 1/500 aftermarket aircraft for it. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.

Guy's just seen on WEM's site that Trumpeter have announced some nice new goodies.
How do the the following grab you:
1/700 USS Dwight D Eisenhower CVN-69 1978
1/700 USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 2006
1/700 HMS Hood 1941
1/700 HMS Hood 1931
1/200 USS Arizona 1941
1/350 Liberty ship SS John W. Brown
plus loads of 1/350 modern aircraft.

The Eisenhower being the link here, now thats the one for me (and the Hood)

Ciao

I built the 350 scale Nimitz by Trumpeter, and it took 4 months. I loved every minute of it, even putting the itsy bitsy nose marking decals on the aircraft. I hope you enjoy building your kit as much as I did mine. See if you can get a PE set for it. At least one that has railings and radars. It really really enhances the kit up.

Steve

Do you have any links to retailers of PE for the trump 500 scale Carriers - my usual supplier here in the UK has a complete lack of them.

Cheers
