I thought I'd go ahead and post a few pictures of my recently completed model. Its the Revell Type VIIB cutaway model. I didn't do the best job in the world on it. Most of my paint and stuff wasn't here at the time so I used what I had. I did figure out that digital pictures really show every flaw in the paint though lol. I realize its not the best by far. But I'm getting back in to modelling after some time off.

You know I thought about that about 2 minutes after I did it lol. I will probably try that here in the next few days when I get a chance.

I'm more used to building 1/48 scale world war II planes. But I get tired of building those after awhile. The biggest thing I need to work on is my painting. I need to get an airbrush, but they seem so expensive.

Hey Ryan. Good job for your first time out the chute. Go to BearAir and look at their airbrushes. Especially their brand. Good price for a great airbrush.

Hi Ryan

As Karl said, use the masking tape - you still can repair it and it will have a better look.
It's an easy fix, with a big result!
Another thing that you could try to do, even without an airbrush, it to give it a subtle black wash, so that the details are noticeable. After that, drybrushing the afected areas with a lighter shade of the base colour wil help give it a little volume.
I don't want to be a pest or anything (trying to help) but you can see this Feature:
Typ VII-C or this Review: Typ XXIII
Different methods, with good results (although Glenn's u-boat it's much better IMHO).

Don't give up on it - just take your time
