Hi all,

I`ve just had a B****Y Brilliant trip into Bristol to go and see the specialist about the recent operation to repair a detached retina in my left eye and a tear in the retina in the right eye.

The appointments had slipped and the waiting time was 1.5 from the time stated on my letter but what the hell, my dear wife had decided to keep me company, bless her. Had the drops that make your pupils open right up so they can peer in, probally see the back of your head (LOL)

Saw the doctor well professor actually and after a poke around he told me that every thing was good, nice flat retina in both eyes, only thing is during the operation they had to fit a stirup around the eye which will stay with me till the end, result the eye is not round any more and I can feel it when I look hard left, but a dam sight better than lossing my sight I can tell you.

I can also fly again, this was banned due to the gas they put into my eye, which means the visit to Cambodia to do some charity work is back on, I had to cancel one week before flying out due to the need to have the op.

If you ever have to have those drops that open up your pupils, take sun glasses with you, I forgot and today was a very sunny day and Bristol has a large number of building that seem to reflect sun light. I can how ever read a book in the dark (LOL)

SO, AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY

PeteV

Pete,
That's great news.
You'll have that boat rebuilt in no time now.
(I'd let your bud keep do'in the latrine duty awhile longer though! )
Best regards,
Gary

Ahoy Pete,

Great to hear that all is well with the eyes!

And as to the "Vosper Incident" well, I am sure it can be repaired.

Just got my scanner back today so I will send you some scans of the
towers.

Later,
Joe

Hi Pete

Excellent news!!! I am very happy for you!
You are now in full possession of your habilities - especially the eye sight, which is very dramatic for us, modelers - has you already have experienced!!!
So, keep us posted with your new projects, and don't forget to buy something nice for your Mrs!!
She deserve it!

Cheers,
Rui

glad to hear everythgn turned out great. and yea I have had those drops in my eyes and I was in super-sunny Ft Bragg in June at the time. Thank God they gave us these plastic / paper throw away type sunglasses. Only problem was, the Captain wan't too pleased about me wearing them for two days, but what could he do....Doctor's orders !!!

Glad to hear everything is all right now Peter. I can only say I'm glad it's you and not me. I've got the most sensitive eyes you could imagine. I go through Hell every time I have to go to the eye Doc and they have to put any drops or anything in my eyes. Hope you can get back to the model bench as good as new.
