Hi Guys, this is my Bismarck's second in progress pictures. I had already finished the main construction and painting, now I need to proceed with rigging and railing. Hope you like it.

A whole ship shot, sorry for the poor quality of pictures

Fore superstructure, stack, and cranes

Aft Superstructure

Little Planes, I add antenna wire, propeller, and a tarp to cover the solid cockpit

"Da HK Man"

Armor, aircraft, figures, and now ships.

I bow to the "Master". The full pic shot shows the beautiful lines of this vessel.

Looking good Dave (nice job on detailing up the planes--nice touch).

Ola Dave

That`s a nice lookin` bismarck you have there. I really love the planes they are very detailed. Makes me wanna start my bismarck that I have laying around but I have some Funny plans about it. Have you seen James Camerons Epedition Bismarck??
I think It`s about time that good ol`` missus Bismarck meets mister Dremel :-) :-)

Anyway Expedition Bismarck is a very good reference documentary about the Bismarck. everything is covered there. From the day that she went to sea from Wilhelmshafen (I believe, The sinking of the hood, The hunt of the british Navy, The Swordfish planes, The Final battle till the point where they sank her with a time charge. This is a two or three hour documentary where they show everything in the form of reenacted pieces of movie. really stunning 3D animations, real footage of those days and footage of the diving to the wreck. (they went into the ship with camera`s.
Really a must for the Bismarck lovers :-) :-)

Anyway great job on that bismarck. Are you going to do the Camo lines on the hull too??

By the way I really love the pea pattern cushion you have laying there in the background of the first picture

Very very nice detail on the deck Dave! I also like the work you did on those tiny planes. Good luck with the rigging!

PS: That sofa seems to have gone through a lot

sweet Dave nice detail. Nothing else can be said, Dave is going to have all these great models done in no time. Tamiya model Dave? Next thing you better build is a big cabinet cause I see that $1700.00 Sub from Andreas in 1/35 scale on the way and oh well you get the gist.
Great job

Thank you guys.... I think I need to put my time into this big chunk of plastic. I am glad it comes out alright for a first ship.

You are too kind with your words....I am not deserving.... I am unworthy......

Unworthy of anyones daughter... maybe. But surely not unworthy of the praise you receive from your fellow modelers

Looks great, where the heck you gonna keep it though? :-)

Excellent looking ship. Do you have a hi-res digital cam? We could really use some multi-megapixel pictures to see some of those details. BTW, what kit is that? It looks quite large

I must protest the disturbance in the force. More armor? Yes.....Less tracks...yup! Very nice indeed......Planes need a "little" love! Get it...little.....I bust me up!

My God, Dave, it just keeps getting better and better. You are doing your usual EXCELLENT job detailing that ship. And, man, you do a better camo scheme in 1/350 than I can do in 1/48...what an outstanding piece of work detailing those planes. I am running out of adjectives, so I will just say, superb work.

Dave, that is gorgeous! I love ships. Selrach's love is tanks, but I have a thing for ships, you know.. watercraft. During that sale they had at Hobby Lobby, they had a Bismark 1/400th scale I think. Half price! Knocked the price of that sucker down to 30.00 !!! And Selrach has been wanting to do something different, so he picked it up to look at it, and I convinced him to get it. He opened the box and we looked at the ship and all the details.. and *GASP*.. the instructions are in Korean! LOL LOL .. anyway, its going to be a challenge, and many many tiny pieces, rigging.. but no instructions on rigging and paint scheme.

GEESH Dave when do you find time to do all the building? I am impressed with the 1/350 floatplanes. How did you make the tarps over the canopies?? I can't get my 1/48 aircraft to look that good. Keep up the excellent work.

Excellent work on him. (The Captain refused to call it her). The detail is some of the best I've seen. Now that you have done a German Ship you need an American and British Ship to complete the cycle. Be careful though these ships can be addictive.

I used kleenex soaked in white glue then place on the canopy, once it dried up. I painted them with oil color. Very easy to do, but cover the ugly solid canopy area. HTH.

For so short a lifespan, the Bismarck had many paint schemes. Are you going for sea trail era, Norwegian fjord trip or the final fling. Check out Squadrons Kreigsmarine book it'll help with the appropriate color schemes
