I finally have some more progress to report on this one.

As for the ship (first of 2) I’ve now got it the right color. Mixed some testors white in with the Whiteensign Deck gray and think it looks a lot better now.

Just need to do some touchups yet.

Also I’ve built the front turret. 5 pieces all together. And now I have to do 3 more before the dios done.

Actually went much better then I expected.

Once I get the touch ups done on the paintjob I’ll start adding the smaller plastic parts to the bridge.

Thanks.

I’ve started painting the turret and some other parts and will hopefully get them added and get new pictures of it sometime soon.
I’m trying to work my way out from the middle on it. less chance of damaging small parts.

Have to go up to the club and start digging out a creek this week so it may be a while. I hate trout season. Especially when its still snowing.

Some new pictures.

(Camera works better when something else is behind it.)
Except for the people I think that’s all the PE the bridge gets. I would be celebrating that but it just means I have to do 4 more .50cals followed by the deptcharge racks.

Those railings really do make quite a difference, I may have to revisit my Butler and see what I can do about adding some to it.

Thanks guys.

Heres another small update.

I’ve got the 40mm on and started the 4 mid .50s. The 40mm in the back came with the kit. The one up front is resin. I’ll have 2 resin guns for the main ship.

Super work Jacob. I'm reading "Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors", about Taffy 3 at Leyte. Can you imagine being on one of these and taking on a Japanese heavy cruiser?

I saw your comment about bridge railing. There is still railing to go along sides to the stern right? I'm still putting up all the railing on my 350 Tico. I'm down to a few pieces left of that, put on propshafts and props, and do the helicopters. I sould make it by the 4th of July, then I have to decide on my next kit. My club meets tomorrow and one of the guys is bringing in his IS-2 tank....hmmmmmm

Thanks guys.

Kenny it really is amazing that Taffy 3 was able to hold out against such odds that day.
The butler class is a decent ship but lacks the armor and firepower to go up against larger ships efficiently.
Certainly wouldn’t want to have been on when there.

Steve your right. There’s railing along the top of the deck room (is that what its called?) And along the sides of the ship. Well on the sides there’s a large gap at the K guns.

Could it be? An update?

Yep got the PE on the back of it. Gave Kenny's Gator grip glue a real workout and it seems to work.

Now I need to paint the new PE and add the Radar and such at top. Probably see you guys in another year or so.
