Hey all,

I have been working on the S-100 even though I haven't posted much on it. Here is a shot of what I've been doing.

The bridge is not glued down yet. I still need to do more painting and a few other details then maybe it might get glued. I posted more pics at the in progress picture area.

Hey all,

Long time with out posting I know, I have been busy just not always on what I should be busy on (wife and I disagree on this subject a bit...LOL). I have had to scale back on what I planed to do because our van needed some major brake work and depleted much of my modeling fund, things happen. Here are some pics,

There is some touch up to do still but I have part of the deck on now. I detailed the inside of the bridge even though you can't see it except small portions through the veiw ports (Iknow they are there..LOL). They main problem I have run into is the fit of the deck. It seems a little long? A little work and I got it to work. The only other problem that has come to light is myself. I look at all the info I have collected and I try to over detail, so I have been forceing myself to stay on pace and not get to bogged down in details. We'll see how it goes....LOL

Hi Frank!
There's nothing wrong in over detailing a build, mate, because when you look at the real thing, what do you see?...alot of details!

So in essence, you're experiencing a common malady known as aftermarket-upgrade-astigmatosis, and this should be groomed instead of squelched, my friend ...nothing wrong with all those little fiddly bits, even if you are the only one that knows they are there! Keep up the good work, and keep the updates a flowing!

Hey All,

Been awhile since I posted an up date but I have been working on my boat honest...LOL!

There have been some disappointments and set backs during this build but not to bad for first build in many years. Still much work to get done but I should be done by the end of the contest.

I've got this kit in the stash. Yours looks real good, almost makes me want to jump right into it. I'm still messing with that old Airfix Vosper kit, and am looking at doing a 35th scale Huey "D" for the Riverine build. I'll decide today whether to enter campaign and do that, or work on the Porsche turret KT for a planned diorama.

I question the red-hull, but not having done any research specifically could be way off base. I thought the bottom of the hull was dark gray like their subs

Blaster,

From what I found out they did have the red bottom with no boot stripe. My color may be off some but thats the only red I had at the time.

Hey all,

Well the S-100 is finished and posted in the gallery so give her a gander and let me know what you think. I have already seen some things I would change if I had so time, but I geuss there are always some things we would do differently on our builds if given more time....lol. Let me here the comments cause I want to learn all I can.

JBA,

I need to get a better lens for my digital, it does very bad close ups. But I'm looking to get the lens soon then I'll post some better pics.
