Ahoy mates!

Here's my entry - Dragon's 1/35 Sturmboot

I'll be adding figures from these sets:

Dragon

and Italeri

I'll also be adding some scratch built bits such as the wiring for the engine.

Howdy Kenny,

Should be a cool build. I also like your choice of fig kits to go with it, especially the Dragon kit. I can see all of the poses being used.
The guys on the far right & left at the prow, with the 3rd guy from the left at the engine yoke and the 2nd guy from the left giving the 3rd guy a 'goose' with his rifle to get him to go faster....

Tread.

Gator,
That will be a great build. The guy you have cutting the wire reminded me of my army days......Engr(sapper)....Duel prime and all that.

Ahoy mates.

The hull and engine are together and primed, drying right now. Photos to follow. I'm starting work on the figures now.

Ahoy mates!

Update photos.

Gotta wire the engine and work on the fit between the engine and the soldier's hands.
Then I can start laying on the colors.

Kenny, don't know how much armor stuff you do, but if that wounded guy in the sapper set and the guy cutting the wire isn't in your needs stuff, I'll take them off your hands. I eventually plan to build a diorama of a KT getting ready to get shot in the behind by a group of Americans with a bazooka and a Molotov. Looking to have some shot up and dead Germans laying around. Haven't seen ths set at my LHS, they pretty much concentrate on some Tamiya and lots of Dragon

Ahoy, Joe, I do, mate!

The stickied posts were originally in the "Fleet Manuevers" forum (where I thought that we had decided to run the threads ) and I have the capability of making the sticky notes there, as forum host...When I moved the threads here, the stickiness came with them! I don't have this access here in this forum, so alas, I can't help you...but if you shoot a pm to Rui, I'm sure he will sticky your threads as well, to make them easier to find!!
Cheers,
~Gunny

Steve, if I can't use him, he's yours. I'm starting to build a little more armor now, but not dios.

Gunny, that is to hold figured while they dry. I've made some holders out of foam paint brush handles and binder clips and a stencil brush handle and a wood craft wheel. When I'm painting the figures, I always need a place to set them to dry.

Well, I got the green on the hull, the holes drilled for the spark plug wires and the brass rod for the base.

Thanks Gunny.

It's a great little kit. Alot of possiblities to load out this little boat. I believe I may use the figure resting his hand on the kneeling figures back.

I have decided to mount it on brass tubing instead of a water base. I would like the focus to be on the boat itself. Having never done water on a large scale, I wouldn't want to take away from the kit with a poor water job.

Ahoy mates!

Today I must withdraw from the SOTQ contest due to my status as a staff member. No worries though. The sturmboot build will continue in a new thread in the Military Small Craft folder.

To my shipmates I wish you the best of luck!

It didn't come as a big surprise Frank. As a matter of fact I'm the one that brought it to Skipper's attention.

The good thing about it is now, I and add all kinds of things to the build that i didn't think of before!

The fun is the build and seeing them all come together anyway, the contest is secondary. Keep the updates coming anyway, I'm learning all the time watching you guys build
