Ahoy mates.

Another Monday is upon us and I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. Did anyone get any building time in this weekend? Did you see any cool maritime related tv programs?

I managed to get the wood base cut and stained for my sturmboot. I also laid a custom paint job on my 1/24 Shelby Mustang, along with working on my sister-in-law's 1:1 scale car.

Sound off mates. And we want to see photos!

It's not a ship, but I am building.

Yellow in place and ready to apply the tiger eye.

I base coated Tamiya flat blue and then shot Grape Pearl over it.

Very cool, Gator!
Doesn't HAVE to be a ship on the bench always!!
Shoot, I'm STILL limping through the LAV-25 that has been my focus for the last couple months...

Oh my god. Is every one ok?
Don’t worry Kenny. I watched my TS give a piece of oak flying lessens this weekend. Thank god for the pushstick.

I was busy but didn’t get to much modeling done.
But I did do some building.

Had to add another shelf to the wood rack. Would have made it a bit sturdier but I ran out of screws.
Everything was to crowded on it and the wormy oak and that dang yellow stuff was sitting in the work area. Now I also have room to bring down the maple.

Of course thats not all I built this weekend. If you look in the lower left corner between the router table and miter saw you will see the start of my checkers board. The playing area that you see (Trust me after some glueing, cutting and more glueing it will be squares.) is being made from Redoak and Mahogany. The boarder around it I’m thinking of possibly doing with maple.

Of course I also did some gardening and helped my grandfather find a buyer for his 50% share of 100acres.

Looks like I’ll be watching the news this morning so I may get some modeling done while I do that.

I didn't get much modeling done, but I did manage to pick up some hardware. The IPMS club I'm a member of, Centennial, had our annual model show at the Pueblo Air Museum, about 60 miles from here. We had a great turn out, lots of people and lots and lots of models. I brought about a dozen models, in six categories, and managed to win three bronze medals, one for submarines, one for powered ships, and one for dioramas.

I did bring out my 1/2 finished 1/700 Indianapolis and started to work on her. I hope to finish her next and donate her to the museum. They've got a B-29 on display, and a case about the atom bomb, and I thought they'd like a model of the ship that brought the bomb.

I'll be posting more images from the model show when I can.

Ahoy Kenny

Did some work on my IJN Isuzu but I have no shots of that but here is some shots of my work on the other project - the Airfix E Boat.

These are shots of the bow after gluing and removal of the tape.

Regards

Ever since I finihed the Yamato conversion I've sort of been drifting along. Of course the stress and hours of the job took everything out of me including a joy for life lack of sleep and loss of appetite. Ever since I "left" the job last week, all those things have corrected and or improved. I spent 6 or so weeks limping through an easy Humvee kit and I started a 1/24 scale 73 Porsche Carerra kit. So, I finished up the HUMVEE last week (except for some decals and extra equipment stuff) got the Carerra to the I need paint for the body phase (imagine that, no gloss white ) and then started a Dragon Panzer 3 H/J version. So I 'm getting back in the spirit. Haven't decided next project yet, but there are 4 350 scale ships in the running...the NC, NJ, Ticonderoga (Frigate) and the J O'b Liberty. Got a shw this weekend and as I need some railings/PE to do the latter two may find some for sale.
