Hey Paul:
The O-Class sounds great!! Just a little thing I'll throw out there. Most of the US WWII battleships had what the call a dazzle pattern the ran from The top of the stacks to the waterline. Just in case you enjoy the ship so much you may want to do another!! I too get tired of painting a model all one color, so maybe I'll dazzle mine. Got to inventory the paints to see if I got all the colors.. Man o man more 4 days and I can give in to the voices in my head from that chunk o plastic that keeps calling me.
Good Luck all and I for one can't wait to kick this thing off!!

I'm curious, how come the Warship Campaign isn't listed under Campaigns yet?

I can't wait until Monday. I started looking at the Arizona yesterday and it doesn't look as bad as some reviews I've read seem to indicate. Of course I'm still modeling just for myself, when I start to do it more for others I'll probably get more critical.

I'm not sure... I sent Jim an e-mail about it, and he said he'd add it ASAP. (I'm sure he's got lots of other stuff to do on the site) We have a good number of people signed up already, so I'm not too worried about it. :-)

I think the reason the campaign is on the board yet is because it hasn't started yet. I could be wrong but all the ones on there are underway. This is just a guess though.

Blaster76!!

You found me out, I admit it! I was going to put Yammamota on the bridge of my Yamato but I haven't been able to find out what eye-color he had. Unfortunately I'll be building it in 1/700 and the eye-color is a dead-ringer at that scale; without the right color I'll probably get some know-it-all to point it out for me... you know with my 100000/0 brush I can effectively paint the eye-color at 1/1200, but I'm not meaning to brag...

Knowing me I would put the ship upside-down on a waterline model #:-)

Sound the alarm, Woot, Woot, all hands on deck! Dumb question alert!

Is a submarine a ship? I mean it can travel on the water...

I won the Zvezda 1/350 Kursk as a door prize and it is the only non figure/ armour I own

hence the dumb question...

Can I build one for this campaign?

Woot, Woot Dumb question alert cancelled...

Hey there BillyBishop!

In answer to your question, I'll quote Paul from another thread:

If it shoots and floats, why not?

Yes, as long as the kit meets the scale limits (and yours does), submarines count.
Built away!

:-) I would like to participate, I have a 1/700 Revell HMS sheffield that I originally bought to do as a presentation to a matlot friend. It is actually started so that in its self might preclude me from taking part, but with everything else I'm involved in it will still be pushing it to get it finished within the time frame. However a) I would like to support this campaign, b) I have never built a ship model before and c) this would give me the push to get the Sheffield done.
The question is, am a elligable, due to the fact that this kit was started before the start date?
In hope.

Hey Mal:
I too am not a weahter expert and don't know if I will even attempt it on my Missouri, but haven't ruled it out.
I am posting the link here due to everyone is trying something listed here and may help( or not) but hey it is all about trying to help each other anyway. Just excuse the tank remark mentioned in the weather section #:-)

Once again hope it helps and hope the Sheffield Qualifies.

The answer is: Yes.

The way I look at it, there's a few reasons capaigns exist:
- They make people buy more kits to build
- They make people build (and finish) kits they bought a looong time ago
- They make people build something they might not try otherwise
- They're an excuse to buy more hobby related items :-)
- They're just plain fun!

All out construction will commence on my Arizona before the weekend is over. With my Corsair, all I need to do is spray a dull-coat and toss on a few pastels... then I can move to the shipyards!

:-) Thanks Yodaman, I suppose I have no more excuses, so I guess I'm in. It will be tight for me to get it finished but I will have a go. Should be fun. :-)

Holdfast, which Sheffield do you have, the WWII cruiser famous for almost being torpedoed by Ark Royal's strike on the Bismarck or the escort sunk in the Falklands?
