As reported in an earlier news story, Aoshima is releasing the Pearl Harbor raider I-20 this year. Your news staff has found out that this story has changed. Aoshima is now releasing not only the IJN I-20 with its Type 'A’ midget submarine, but also the I-16, also with a Type 'A’ midget submarine.

The kits are due out December 2011, just in time for the holidays. These nicely molded subjects are set to retail for approximately $40.00 USD. Also due to release at the same time as the submarine kits is a detail set complete with photo-etch and a wood deck. This set will retail for approximately $25.00 USD.
