Just finished is the display model for one of BlueJacket's two new 1/192 scale kits of GEARING (DD710). This is the FRAM I version, the other (almost done) being the "as completed" version.
These are traditional solid hull wooden kits with the adidition of modern materials (resin and photo-etched brass) and are intended for experienced builders. Each comprises a machine-carved basswood hull, laser-cut wooden components, cast britannia fittings, resin components, photo-etched brass details, and some styrene and brass building materials. There are four sheets of plans and an instruction manual of around 50 pages illustrated with photos and 40+ drawings (mostly exploded parts diagrams).
