We're seeing some good growth in this scale recently and this stand out combo is no exception!
Riich models has sent us a healthy dose of photos detailing their latest project, the USS Gato SS-212 with an OS2U-3 Kingfisher. This is a very smart pairing of the lead ship of the Gato Class submarines with the depth charge-equipped archetype of the Kingfisher, and from the looks of the kit it is very likely to draw new blood to this expanding scale.


1/200 USS GATO-212 (1944) + OS2U-3 Kingfisher
RS 2002

This kit is going to feature:

(USS Gato-212)
Photo-etched name plate
Optional plastic or photo-etched handrails
Moveable 50 cal gun barrel
Slide molded upper hull with wooden pattern
Hull is separated at the waterline for full-hull or waterline version
Photo-etched forward torpedo tubes can be positioned open or closed
Mark 14 steam torpedo with PE propeller
Bow diving planes are retractable

Molded in clear styrene
Slide-molded fuselage
Seperate cowling and propeller

After reading "...some good growth in this scale..", I was even more interested what scale this model might be in. Luckily, I found the information on the photo of the painting instruction - should be in a visible place in the text, IMHO.

Good question, off hand I'd say it's about 18.5in/47.5cm in length.
